Weekly mentoring groups: Junior Leaders and Young Leaders

We host weekly, co-ed leadership groups for our middle school and high school-aged youth (Junior Leaders), and a new weekly program for our elementary school-aged youth (Young Leaders). These groups include sharing a meal with one another, a fun and interactive activity, and a time of sharing and learning.

Monthly mentoring groups: College/young adult group and Moms’ group

Many of our original members are still involved with Urban Mentors, often helping to lead groups of younger students, but also participating in ongoing activities and community that we provide. Our college-aged youth program involves social activities that bring our older youth together for fun and support as each participant works hard to pursue her dreams.

Our moms’ group is a time of empowerment and education for the women in our community who have become mothers and are experiencing the joys and challenges that parenthood brings.

Summer Programs: Family Nights and Summer Intern Program

While our mentoring groups take a summer break, we keep our community connected and supported with periodic “Family Nights,” where all of our youth and their families are invited to join us for a meal and some fun and encouragement.

Our high school-aged youth have the opportunity to participate in a more structured program, with weekly outings and learning opportunities to expose them to a variety of careers and experiences for more informed life choices.
